Petaluma (meaning "behind the hill" in the Coast Miwok language) is a mountain retreat in the beautiful Vallée du Lys close to the spa town of Bagnères de Luchon and the ski resort of Superbagnères.
The house is situated at an altitude of approximately 1100m in a valley roughly 8km outside of Bagnères de Luchon on the road to the ski resort.
Featuring open plan living with French doors opening out onto the garden, comfy sofas, a wood burning stove, underfloor heating, a well equipped kitchen and large dining area.
In the lounge there’s a TV with a number of English channels and a DVD player. For the more traditional we also provide a selection of board games.
The laundry area off the kitchen has a washer and dryer and a downstairs toilet gives added convenience.
A separate library allows you to escape the crowds and hide away with a book for an hour or two.
The house sleeps a maximum of 8 people, 6 very comfortably, in a variety of sleeping combinations:
Upstairs there is also a large family bathroom with bath and walk in shower and each room has a separate radiator for chilly mornings. The house is tastefully decorated throughout with many additions to make your stay as relaxing and luxurious as possible.
There is plenty of storage throughout the house and a lockable Bike / Ski Store.
Apart from the fabulous views up the valley to the Cascade d’Enfer, the house has a spacious garden with a large private pond (unfenced) and backs onto a trout filled river. In summer, the outdoor area is great for a lazy lunch and bbq or a cool drink in the hammock, or for the (slightly) more energetic there is an area ideal for petanque. There is a cosy chiminea for the evenings.
In the cooler months, when the snow isn’t too deep, you can warm up outside around the fire pit perched on a rustic stool.
There is also space in the driveway for a number of cars.
This is a dog friendly property; additional costs and conditions apply.
